Length Guide
Twenty inches is not
always twenty inches.
Length is measured on the hair pulled straight, from the weft to the tip. On a curl pattern, the same hair reads four to six inches shorter once it dries. This is the most common reason people are disappointed by a delivery, and it is entirely avoidable.

Where each length falls
| Length | On a straight texture | Reads as (curly) |
|---|---|---|
| 10" | Chin, jaw-skimming bob | 6–7" |
| 12" | Collarbone | 8–9" |
| 14" | Just below collarbone | 9–10" |
| 16" | Armpit | 11–12" |
| 18" | Mid-back, above the bra line | 13–14" |
| 20" | Bra line | 14–16" |
| 22" | Below the bra line | 16–17" |
| 24" | Mid-back to waist | 17–19" |
| 26" | Waist | 19–21" |
| 28" | Below waist | 21–23" |
| 30" | Hip | 22–25" |
Two things the table cannot tell you
Your height
Twenty inches sits at the bra line on someone of 1m65 and mid-back on someone of 1m80. The reference points above assume an average torso. Measure from your own hairline down if you want certainty.
Where the weft sits
Length is measured from the weft, not from your scalp. A closure installed further back adds apparent length. A leave-out at the front removes it.
How many bundles
| Length ordered | Bundles for a full install |
|---|---|
| 10" to 16" | 2 bundles, or 2 plus a closure |
| 18" to 22" | 3 bundles plus a closure |
| 24" and above | 3 to 4 bundles plus a closure or frontal |
Longer hair needs more bundles for the same fullness, because the weight of the length pulls the ends thinner. Ordering three bundles at 26" and expecting the density of three bundles at 14" is the second most common disappointment.
Unsure between two lengths? Take a tape measure, hold it at your hairline and let it fall. Where you want the ends to land is your answer, plus four inches if you are ordering a curl pattern.
